Local Activities
Northumberland's beautiful coast and countryside make the County a walker's paradise offering everything from challenging long distance walks across the hills to gentle strolls along the silver sands of an uncrowded beach. With one of the longest and most beautiful coastlines of any English County and the largest man-made lake in Western Europe, it is not surprising that there are excellent facilities for sailing, windsurfing and other watersports in Northumberland. And whilst others might wish for a little less wind in the County, for sailers and windsurfers it is ideal.
